Reprieve

Moody night, brooding clouds
I wander through
pages heavy with
confessions
I need you
to take away my pen.

I was
so far away from home
I was there
in your arms, in your bed
so far away
covered in your sweat and
bite marks
I was
not here.

The months, the seasons
we shared, so happy
return
again
your shadow lurks
everywhere.

Stop coming around
please
the part of me that
loved you
still cries
when you remind me
how I broke
your heart.

I’m tired of talking
kiss me quiet
tired of thinking
fuck me silent.
